The Georgia Technology Authority (GTA) has chosen Subi Muniasamy as its new chief technology officer, effective January 1, 2024.
“Subi comes to GTA with proven expertise in executing large-scale modernization efforts in state government,” said GTA Executive Director and state Chief Information Officer Shawnzia Thomas. “From strategy to implementation, he has the skills and experience to build on Georgia’s recent successes in migrating state applications to cloud environments. Subi shares GTA’s commitment to providing secure, reliable technology services for the state.”
Muniasamy is no stranger to Georgia state government, as he currently serves as CIO at the Georgia Office of the Commissioner of Insurance and Safety Fire. In his current role, Muniasamy established a strategic roadmap and implemented the Georgia Insurance Management System (GIMS) in the Salesforce platform, which GTA says has provided efficient access to various insurance services.
Prior to joining Georgia state government, Muniasamy served as the executive director of the Maryland Total Human Services Integrated Network (MD THINK) initiative. Muniasamy held other tech roles within the Maryland state government, including CTO of the Department of Human Services and CIO of the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange.
He also has experience in the private sector with stints at Deloitte Consulting, Optum, and CGI Federal.
