The city of Seattle, Wash., has named Rob Lloyd as its new interim chief technology officer (CTO) and director of the Information Technology Department (IT) after a national search.
Lloyd will begin his new role as the city’s interim CTO and director of IT on June 24.
“Seattle is a world-leading technology hub, and I am excited for Rob to join the team and support our One Seattle vision to be a world-leading government in the use of technology to better serve our communities,” said Mayor Bruce Harrell.
“Rob is a well-known and well-respected leader in his field, and I believe his knowledge, experience, and commitment to public service will help him succeed in a role that is connected to everything we do as a city,” added Harrell.
Previously, Lloyd served as the deputy city manager for San Jose, Calif., for over eight years, overseeing 7,000 employees and with a budget of $6 billion.
Additionally, Lloyd has experience serving in other state government IT roles in Arizona, Oregon, and Colorado.
