Peter Mantos has been appointed to be the new secretary of the New Mexico Department of Information and Technology by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham.
“Peter Mantos is eminently qualified to lead the state agency tasked with deploying broadband resources and arming our state against cyberattacks,” said Gov. Grisham. “He will also be critical in our efforts to continue to modernize our technology for both state workers and the public we serve.”
As the new secretary of the Department of Information and Technology, he will be working to provide the residents of New Mexico with “cost effective and efficient enterprise products, services, and solutions within a secure and reliable environment,” according to his LinkedIn Profile.
“I’m honored to lead the department under Gov. Lujan Grisham to help New Mexico better secure and expand our IT infrastructure,” said Mantos. “I am excited to help bring fast and affordable broadband statewide.”
Prior to being appointed, Mantos had been the president of his own IT consulting firm named Manto I.T. Consulting. Inc. He holds over 30 years of experience in IT and has worked at various businesses including Digital Equipment Corporation, Siemens, and Intel.
Mantos has also worked with both Federal and state governments, including New Mexico’s Department of Game and Fish, State Land Office, and Secretary of State.
