Bryce Bailey has been named interim chief information security officer (CISO) for the state of Nebraska following more than a year’s service as deputy chief CISO for the state.
“Nebraska is built on trust, resilience, and people who quietly get the job done, and that’s exactly how I approach cybersecurity,” Bailey said in a LinkedIn post announcing the new position.
“From protecting critical services to safeguarding the data of Nebraskans across our great state, this work is about stewardship, accountability, and long-term strength,” he said.
Bailey said his focus is “simple” in the new role and includes strengthening cyber resilience, partnering across agencies and communities, and serving citizens “with integrity and consistency.”
“Cybersecurity isn’t a short-term effort,” he said, adding, “It’s a commitment and I’m proud to help lead a mission that’s energized by the opportunity to continue building a secure, resilient future for the state.”
In addition to his state service, Bailey has also served as an operations action officer with the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency within the federal government.
