As part of its campuswide digital transformation efforts, Loyola University New Orleans is partnering with Ellucian, a higher education technology solutions provider.
Ellucian, which was selected following a competitive bid, will help the school modernize its technology operations. Loyola University will use Ellucian Colleague software-as-a-service (SaaS), an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, to support the school’s digital transformation.
The transformation is part of the school’s broader Strategic Plan 2020. In part, the plan calls for replacing the university’s manual ERP system and investing in modern technology for its finance and student information systems.
“We are excited about the power of the Colleague platform to completely modernize our systems,” said University President Tania Tetlow. “Loyola will become more nimble; processes will be more efficient and flexible; and faculty, staff, and students will be able to do more with self-service, so that we can focus on our core strength: helping students succeed.”
Loyola said that with the new ERP system, the school will be able to streamline its business processes by eliminating redundancies and manual processes. Ellucian said that its Colleague SaaS will improve the user experience for students, faculty, and staff. Additionally, the school claims that the platform’s integrated reporting capabilities and analytics will enable more informed decision-making throughout the university.
In addition to the ERP, the university is targeting a handful of additional technology-related goals in its Strategic Plan 2020. The plan includes a broader call to invest in digital infrastructure and expand the technology available to faculty, students, and classroom spaces. The school also is looking to expand and improve its online and hybrid learning offerings.
