Forsyth Technical Community College, N.C., is looking to move away from traditional paper workflow and accelerate its campus-wide digital transformation. To facilitate that change, it has partnered with Foxit Software to deploy a new PDF Software solution.
“We identified that the broad deployment of PDF editing software was an essential move to meet our goal of making campus document workflows transition to digital,” Chris Pearce, vice president and CIO at Forsyth Tech, said. “Other PDF solution models were complicated and too expensive to allow us to provide a full solution to both students and faculty. But Foxit’s straightforward licensing options, along with the solution’s seamless integration, made them the perfect choice for Forsyth Tech.”
Amid the pandemic, Forsyth Tech established new goals for the community college, namely to shift to a more digital and remote-friendly campus. To achieve that goal, the school is using Foxit Software’s PhantomPDF solution which allows Forsyth Tech to use PDFs to “enable communication and collaboration through a common, standardized, portable and secure electronic file format.” The new tech has made documents viewable on all devices, both on campus and off.
Currently, the school – which has more than 1,000 staff members and provides vocational instruction and training in skilled trades to more than 11,000 enrolled students – has deployed the new solution in its Enrollment, Human Resources, IT, and Legal departments. The different departments have been able to reduce turnaround times and build out custom tools to help with their unique needs. For instance, Forsyth Tech said its HR department has built fillable forms and Enrollment has been able to collect files and signatures from students electronically.
