The Virginia Department of Education has launched the Road to Readiness School Performance and Support Framework Resource Hub.
The new online support hub provides parents, students, educators, and communities with transparent access to preliminary data on school performance and information on support mechanisms available to enhance student and school success.
“This new Road to Readiness embodies our commitment to high expectations, transparency, and prioritizing resources to those students and schools most in need,” said Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin. “Our School Performance Framework and this new resource hub reaffirm our commitment to empowering our teachers, partnering with our parents, strengthening our schools and most importantly, preparing every student for success.”
The Resource Hub is a key implementation tool for the School Performance and Support Framework, which was adopted by the Virginia Board of Education in August. The governor’s office said that by providing concrete reporting on school performance and student achievement, the framework and resource hub act to increase transparency and accessibility of information for Virginia schools and the families they serve.
“This honesty fosters trust and enables all stakeholders to understand and engage with the educational process effectively,” the governor’s office added.
The new School Performance and Support Framework Resource Hub was created by the Virginia Department of Education to provide greater information on the framework and its free resources available to families and educators.
The governor’s office also explained that this school year is the first year of data collection for the framework. Formal reports of the 2024-2025 school year results will be published in Fall of 2025. Additionally, the data presented on the Resource Hub will not be used to determine school ratings. Instead, this preliminary data is available for analysis purposes so that parents, schools, and communities can better understand the areas of focus needed for improvement in the current school year.
