Texas community college system operator Dallas College has appointed Michael Anderson as chief information security officer (CISO).
Anderson talked about the new job in a recent social media post, saying his work at the college follows six years in public service roles in Texas.
Those positions include deputy chief technology officer at Dallas Independent School District, along with CISO and chief privacy officer for Dallas County, Texas.
“After six years of dedicated public service, I’m ready to pour that experience into my new role,” Anderson said.
He also mapped out some of the technological imperatives he wants to tackle in the new position.
“In this new chapter, I am particularly excited to drive Digital and IT Transformation by focusing on the convergence of AI and Cybersecurity,” Anderson said.
“My goal is to harness the power of AI to strengthen our defenses while ensuring that our adoption of emerging technologies remains secure, resilient, and student-focused,” he said.
“My focus is on being a true partner to our students and faculty while ensuring they have a secure, world-class environment to learn, teach, and grow,” Anderson added.
