The New York City Police Department (NYPD) has turned to drones to combat a growing trend of “subway surfing,” or riding on top of above-ground subway cars.

In joint guidance released on Jan. 17, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) – alongside the FBI – is warning critical infrastructure and state, local, tribal, and territorial partners of cybersecurity threats posed by Chinese-manufactured unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), more commonly known as drones.

Robert Blair, vice president of agriculture for Measure, one of the nation’s leading drone operators, specifically addressed the regulation that states a UAV operator must fly his or her drone within a line of sight.
